Is a credit history required to get a store credit card?

I don’t have any credit history because I just started working. I would like to start building my credit history and I thought a store credit card would be easier to get than a regular credit card. So I was wondering, do I need to have past credit history to get a regular Walmart Credit Card (not their Discover Card because I probably wouldn’t qualify). If you have any idea, please help. Thanks.
