Can you become a victim of identity theft without getting your social security number stolen?

      Of course yes. A Perpetrator can claim your identity at all places where SSN is not a verification criterion.

        @Ken, I am cent percent agreed with you. Usually SSN is nit a verification criteria everywhere. So I guess any third party can claim your identity.

      I agree.. especially when you posted your true credentials online. The internet is the best place for thieves to steal identities.

      Really possible. There are transactions which may not need SSN and definitely you’ll lose something/ Thieves are everywhere, just be careful in doing transactions online.

      I must admint I am concerned because so much of your personal information is available on the Internet and I have already had one of my credit cards hacked. I avoid using my SS# online.

      Well for me, i don’t agree with your opinion about that identity theft issue. First and foremost the reason is valid, your social security was stolen and its not your fault if that thing happen. I’ll elaborate more things later about that.

      It’s possible, more thieves are now getting professional in hacking big accounts. What more for ordinary people like us? Just don’t display personal information online and keep your privacy intact with yourself.

      Anything is possible nowadays. People should be very extra careful especially on making online transactions. Without SSN, it is still possible cause thieves find ways to make it possible.

      Is it possible. Black hat hackers have their own way of getting information just be accessing your computer, the best prevention for it is never put personal information on your computer (especially if you’re a regular internet user)

      Yes, online purchases don’t require a SS number. Most do require the credit card number and the CVV code on the back of the card.
